If you're competing with men as a professional, you have to be better than they are ... and make sure you get their respect as an equal, ... It's been hard. Even when you gain their acceptance, it's in a male-dominated way. They say, 'Oh, now she's one of the boys.

I'm at least glad to hear they're continuing it.

I have operated, succeeded and excelled in a man's world -- in every area or profession that I have been in,

I hope young girls will now see me as a role model that will inspire them, ... I certainly hope more and more of them will be better off, women in Liberia, women in Africa, I hope even women in the world.

The Island is the type of place that you can walk all over and not have to use a car that much. Most of the people who come down rent a home for a week. Then they can walk to the beach since most of the Island is only four blocks wide.

This is a very important day in my life. I want to make history. Even if it means I will walk for 10 hours, I will do so,

It's clear that the Liberian people have expressed confidence in me, ... They have elected me to lead the team that will bring reform to the country and that will deliver development.
